As a teen, I always liked showing Holsteins and helping on the farm.
I was very involved in 4-H with Registered Quarter Horses. The best
Quarter Horse mare I owned was sold to Bob Shore, in Canada, and produced
some outstanding offspring for him. At Cornell I earned
a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, and then went on to Virginia Commonwealth
University for a Master of Social Work. I enjoyed my career
in Social Work in Virginia until February 1997, when I returned home
to live in the house in which my father was born. Throughout my stay
in Virginia I remained interested and involved in the Holstein business
as much as possible. On my frequent trips home, I helped out, listened
and followed the latest developments. Father always had a job
for me to do to keep me interested! |

I was fortunate to have had three years working with my father back
in New York before he passed away. During that time, I renewed
my enthusiasm for the Holstein business, learned as much as I could,
and jumped into the business!
It is with great pride that I carry on the Merry-Air tradition. I
am enjoying the challenges of breeding good cattle, and merchandising
in a very competitive, changing market. The show ring is fun, and
I will be there one day with one good enough to be noticed!
I own some cattle with great partners - Mike Putman & my cousin
Sylvia Repard Bounds, Coyne Farms, and Mark Henning. Just another
part of carrying on the family tradition!
Although my whole life has been connected with the cattle business,
I consider myself a rookie with much to learn. And of course,
many new friends to make along the way. Thanks for checking out the
website. Give me a call if you have any interest!
